Rubber-B Makes a Two-Piece Rubber Strap for the Tudor Pelagos FXD's Fixed Lugs
Rubber-B went after a problem that has frustrated Tudor Pelagos FXD owners since the watch launched: fixed channel lugs that ruled out any conventional two-piece strap.

We've covered Rubber-B before here on StrapHunter. You might remember when they introduced The Dream Concept Strap, the one built around a patented mesh construction with small, evenly spaced holes. So when the Swiss maker announced something new, we paid attention. This time they've gone after a problem that has frustrated FXD owners since the watch launched.

Why This Matters
If you own a Tudor Pelagos FXD, you already know the catch. The FXD doesn't use spring bars. It has channel lugs, which means the lugs are fixed and machined as part of the case itself. There's no removing them, no swapping bars, and no getting a conventional two-piece strap in there. Up until now, that meant owners were limited to pass-through straps: single-piece bands threaded through the fixed openings. That works for a tool watch, but it leaves out anyone who wanted something else.
That's the wall Rubber-B went through. With this release, FXD owners can run a two-piece rubber strap that closes with a tang buckle. If you've been wanting that two-piece look on your FXD, this is the first time it's available.
The Attachment System
The story here is how it mounts rather than the rubber. This strap launches Rubber-B's patent-pending "Fixed-Bar Interface," which uses a Solid Metal Insert paired with a custom Spring-Bar System to achieve what they call Blocked-Integration to the FXD case. In plain terms, they engineered a way to marry a spring-bar two-piece strap to a set of lugs that were never designed to accept one. That's the patented solution doing the work, and it's the reason this strap exists.
It ships with its own spring bars and a tang buckle. If you'd rather run your own hardware, you can use any other 18mm tang buckle.
Design and Build
Rubber-B went with a ridged design for the top surface. The central ridge runs smooth down the middle of the strap, while the sections to the left and right of that ridge carry a textured finish. The contrast breaks up the light on the wrist.
Flip it over and the underside, meaning the surface that touches your wrist, is smooth, and it's signed with the Rubber-B logo. A smooth underside is what you want for all-day wear on a watch like the FXD.

- Meets FDA and BVGG specifications: non-toxic, non-marking, non-allergen, and it doesn't attract dust.
- Universal fit for wrist sizes XS to XL.
One Note This strap is engineered for the Tudor Pelagos FXD 42mm in titanium cases only. It is NOT compatible with the Chrono Carbon Composite FXD model. Worth repeating before you buy.

Final Thoughts
Congrats to Rubber-B for putting the time and money into the R&D to solve this. Cracking the fixed-lug problem wasn't obvious, and it wasn't cheap or easy, but they went and did it. They've shown again that they're one of the companies pushing things forward and innovating rather than recoloring the same molds.
I'm pleased to see this strap come to life, and I want to see what they do next.
